Casey’s Studio in Salem, Utah
Learn how to create a painting from a live model and photos in this immersive four-day workshop. Casey will guide you through his full process—from initial concept to a complete finished painting. Also, learn Casey’s approach to Alla Prima painting.
Students will begin with quick thumbnails and a small color study, then move into drawing, blocking-in, and developing form using both direct observation and photo references they take themselves. By the end of the workshop, you’ll walk away with a stronger understanding of composition, color harmony, and the techniques needed to create a finished, expressive painting.
Artists will have the opportunity to work from a live model and will receive one-on-one instruction gaining a fuller knowledge of traditional portraiture. Whether you’re a beginner looking for a strong foundation or an experienced artist looking to improve your process, this workshop will provide the tools you need for your artistic growth.
This intensive workshop will be limited to 10 students.
